Job Description

Space System I&T Engineer Lead

  1. Provide System Integration and Test leadership to one or more of the following: the satellite bus RF payloads optical payloads custom ground terminals or custom user terminals.
  2. Provide system-level test design technical expertise to one or more of the following products and services: satellite bus RF payloads optical payloads custom ground terminals or custom user terminals.
  3. Specify and develop end-to-end payload or sub-system integration and test plans and procedures to validate performance against customer and/or partner requirements
  4. Create test algorithms test scripts and calibration routines as part of performing lab and field evaluation of integrated satellites bus payloads or sub-systems
  5. Analyze system and subsystem test data and engage with cross functionally with teammates partners suppliers or customers to evaluate the product performance and provide proactive feedback on potential improvements.
  6. Architect design and validate mechanical optical and electrical support equipment necessary to enable test execution and requirements verification
  7. Prepare reports documenting test results test coverage performance results and other key performance indicator (KPI) metrics and communicate issues effectively with developers and managers
  8. Effectively manage and track to closure test anomalies defects and bugs; Debug root-cause and make continuous improvements of control systems in a high-rate production environment
  9. 5 years of space vehicle bus RF payload or optical payload integration and test or related industry experience
  10. 5 years of experience developing space or communication system test requirements plans and procedures for system design verification and validation.
  11. 4 years of experience developing code in Matlab LabVIEW Python Docker Rust on Linux platforms and experience with industry standard coding practices
  12. Experience with testing satellite communications payloads optical communications payload spacecraft bus and constituent subsystems or space vehicle level.
  13. Experience in developing and reviewing requirements to support various test phases
  14. Experience in test plan development related to established space hardware test standards (GEVS/SMC-S-016) or military standards (MIL-STD-810 DO-160)
  15. Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills
  16. Solid understanding of system engineering test fundamentals
  17. Computational problem solving and test automation/optimization in one or more of the following: Python Matlab LabVIEW C/C Docker Rust on a Linux platform.
  18. Experience in development integration and commissioning of satellite communication systems
  19. Experience with development of automated test systems
  20. Experience writing end to end and integration and test plans
  21. Experience with incoming calibration checks and developing calibration procedures
  22. Experience developing executing and reviewing formal acceptance/qualification test results
  23. Experience with communication and electrical system test equipment such as vector spectrum analyzers vector signal generators power supplies and oscilloscopes
