Job Description

Meeting Street is currently looking for an Adapted Physical Education Teacher at The Schwartz School for 16 hours per week.
Duties:
- Develops and implements developmentally appropriate and motivating adaptive physical education programs for all identified students as warranted through IEP goals.
- Provides small group whole class and individualized instruction as needed.
- Provides individual support and carry-over of skills introduced in the program.
- Completes all assessments and screenings as needed.
- Provides accurate progress monitoring of goals and all reporting of student progress.
- Creates opportunities and supports student participation in community-based recreational activities that take place during or outside of the school day.
- Provides instruction and support to students in the therapy pool.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Physical Education with certification as a physical education teacher or ability to receive certification within one year of employment.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or ability to get certified within a few months.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certified or ability to obtain within a few months of employment.
- Experience working with children with disabilities.
- Sports/recreation background helpful.
