Schedule/Hours:


Monday - Friday 0730-1630


Requirements

Education: Graduation from an accredited training program resulting in certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Health and Human Services or American Medical Certification

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certification/registration as determined by state requirements or a national certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT)

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years experience


Duties:

  • Properly identify and label specimens for collection and testing
  • Maintain sanitary standards to prevent transmission of disease
  • Select and implement age-appropriate blood collection techniques
  • Prepare package and send specimens to designated testing locations
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records
  • Support mobile blood drives including setup and breakdown of equipment (up to 40 lbs.)
  • Ensure compliance with established medical treatment protocols and Joint Commission guidelines
  • Participate in orientation competency verifications and readiness activities
  • Attend and contribute to meetings committees and quality improvement initiatives
  • Report to the Director of Laboratory Services or ASBBC Director as applicable
