Shop Helper
Pay: $18.60/hour
Shift: MondayFriday 6:00 AM 3:30 PM (OT as needed; hours may vary)

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Shop Helper to support multiple operations including hydrostatic testing finned tube bundle production and CNC plasma table fabrication. This hands-on role involves assisting in cleaning handling assembly inspection and post-processing of components used in air-cooled heat exchangers and structural fabrication. The Shop Helper works closely with production and quality leads to ensure materials meet cleanliness structural and dimensional standards prior to shipment or installation.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist in cleaning finned tubes using compressed air reverse airflow to remove debris and optimize heat transfer.
- Aid in finning machine setup tube preparation and staging bundles for processing.
- Support technicians with plug replacement tube re-rolling header maintenance and bundle rework.
- Assist in inspection of headers plug seals and bundle integrity.
- Support CNC plasma table operators by loading clamping and unloading steel plates.
- Stage and layout materials according to job orders and size specifications.
- Remove cut parts and off-cut slugs preparing materials for welding and finishing.
- Help with routine equipment checks including torch alignment and coolant levels.
- Operate lifting aids or overhead cranes under supervision.
- Lift and move heavy bundles tubes and steel plates safely.
- Maintain a clean organized workspace and properly dispose of scrap materials.
- Follow all safety protocols including PPE usage lock-out/tag-out and handling of high-voltage and compressed-air systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools and hydraulic tools.
- Strong work ethic team-oriented and committed to a safe working environment.
- Willingness to work with compressed air systems and assist in hands-on inspection and maintenance processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed.
- Ability to stand kneel stoop crouch and crawl for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
