We are currently hiring 1st Shift Welding Leadperson starting at $28.00/hour. Hours for 1st Shift are Monday - Thursday 6:15 am - 4:45 pm with opportunities for overtime pay.
Summary: Reporting to the Welding Supervisor this position is a tremendous opportunity to help support the Supervisor and drive production while managing safety quality productivity and cost. Pay Range: $28-$31/hr
First Shift (6:15 am to 4:45 pm - Monday through Thursday - most Fridays off)
Job Specifications:
(Key results expected from this position in the first 6-12 months)
1. Will perform all wire feed welding position for which they area certified/ trained including ASME code pressure vessels. Production type welding using wire feed arc welders on a welding line.
2. Responsible for the daily activities required to meet the production schedule keep the lines running smoothly smooth changeovers no bottlenecks.
3. Will be repairing tanks and be required to know and understand all of the equipment in the area.
4. Troubleshoot weld problem and make adjustments to correct welding problems such as pin holes undercut and high or low weld.
5. Must have passed a minimum of five welding certifications out of 10 welding certifications.
6. Make sure proper staffing is in place to support the line rotate jobs as needed.
7. Ensure adequate training is administered to the new employees.
8. Meet all safety quality productivity and MRO goals for the area.
9. Communicate clearly with supervisors and other team members at all levels in the organization
10. Responsible for monitoring repairs and scrap as well as providing corrective actions to the supervisor
11. Basic math skills.
12. Must be able to stand and walk for 10 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs on a repetitive basis.
Qualifications :
1. Must have at least 1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting; welding experience is required.
2. Must have excellent written and oral skills know and understand blueprints.
3. Must be able to learn how to identify welding defects and use weld gauges.
4. Excellent attendance is required and safe work history
5. Must be self-motivated positive attitude and work well under high-pressure situations
6. Must have leadership ability in the workplace initiative to look ahead.
7. Able to give and receive constructive criticism
8. Has a good understanding of ergonomics and how they apply to the work area.
9. Willing to take charge move to other lines as needed
10. Mechanical ability preferred.
11. Experience managing/supervising production workers.
