Position Overview
HiFyve is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations ensuring safety efficiency and high equipment uptime. This hands-on role will lead a team of skilled maintenance technicians providing direction troubleshooting support and expertise for plant equipment including PLCs VFDs Servos and HMIs.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the day-to-day activities of the maintenance workforce.
- Provide direction and assign maintenance tasks to technicians while overseeing quality of work performed.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to review and optimize planning and scheduling.
- Coordinate and communicate maintenance schedules and activities with operations to minimize equipment downtime.
- Evaluate technician skills and recommend training or development opportunities as needed.
- Oversee inventory management of spare parts and supplies to support maintenance activities.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for critical equipment.
- Provide hands-on leadership for mechanical repairs installations and capital improvement projects.
- Supervise the electrical setup and installation of new or relocated machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical hydraulic and mechanical systems including servo motors pumps gearboxes steam and ammonia systems.
- Analyze equipment issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage technician schedules timecards and work assignments.
Required Competencies
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems effectively.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to supervise and train maintenance staff while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel charts).
- Technical knowledge of PLCs digital/analog sensors and hydraulic/electrical systems.
- Experience with servo motors encoders gearboxes pumps steam and ammonia systems.
- Effective project management and planning skills.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a maintenance role.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience in food facilities is a plus.
- Experience with blow molding ammonia systems and boiler systems is a plus.
- Prior union experience is also a plus.
