Job Description
Synerfac is seeking a School Resource Officer (SRO). The School Resource Officer (SRO) works directly with the Head of School and Operations Director to help provide a safe environment for students staff and visitors. You must relate well while communicating with students school staff and the school community.
- Serves as liaison between law enforcement fire safety officials and school administrators.
- Respond to complaints of losses of personal and school property Monitor & review the schools CCTV system
- Assist in the establishment and formal audit of local security and safety procedures including schools emergency response plan.
- Assists with directing foot traffic during school events parking loading or unloading of school buses during arrival & dismissal assist during medical emergencies.
- Conduct patrols of school grounds to ensure the safety of staff and students. Provide daily reports looking for & reporting broken fencing unlocked doors or gates
- Use closed circuit TV security monitors to watch for strangers or suspicious activity in or around campus.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college; or any equivalent combination of education experience and/or training to demonstrate the standards concepts and guidelines to perform the responsibilities of the position
- Four years experience preferred in supervising school-age children or young adults in any of the following or similar areas: law enforcement security juvenile justice system or counseling programs
- Valid drivers license
- Virginia State Concealed Carry Firearm Permit is required
- First Aid & AED Certified or willing to become certified
