The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative / operational / customer support assignments. Performs computations. Responsible for decisions focusing on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. CenterWell Medical Assistants work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards but has some latitude over prioritization/timing while working under minimal direction. Medical Assistants follow standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

This position is based out of our center in Lebanon TN however from time to time the Medical Assistant 2 may be to support another Middle Tennessee center (mileage is reimbursable).
CenterWell is seeking a dedicated compassionate and experienced Medical Assistant who is interested in growing with the company and being a part of something great!

Medical Assistant Role Overview:
Prepare patients for examinations including taking vitals
Recording & updating patient medical histories in electronic medical records software
Performing in-clinic routine tests screening and point of care testing such as Blood Draws EKGs Orthostatic Blood Pressures Strep COVID and Flu Nasal and Oral Tests
Scheduling and assisting with external routine screening and diagnostic tests such as mammograms colorectal screenings echocardiograms and bone density screenings.
Preparing and administering medications including intramuscular intradermal and subcutaneous injectionsincluding vaccinations/immunizations as directed by a physician or other licensed provider
Counseling patients on medication and special diets
Wound care and changing dressings
Sterilizing and cleaning equipment and ensuring maintenance of examination rooms
Collaborates closely with physicians and nurses to ensure top level patient care
Highly accurate in collecting phlebotomy samples from senior-aged patients

Required
Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5 years of experience and approval from Provider
High school diploma or equivalent
CPR Certified
This role is considered patient facing and is part of the companys Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role you will be required to be screened for TB
Preferred
Certified or Registered (Arizona Indiana & South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)
Phlebotomy experience Medication/vaccine administration experience
1 years MA experience
Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS CPT/ICD coding and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
