Cache Creek Elementary School enrols approximately 130 students in kindergarten through grade 7 of which 45% are of Indigenous ancestry. Cache Creek Elementary is located in the Village of Cache Creek which lies on the unceded and traditional territory of the Secwpemc First Peoples. The schools Action Plan for Learning guides the work of the school.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful applicant must have or be eligible for certification to teach in British Columbia and possess:
- Qualifications and/or successful teaching experience in the area/grade level posted;
- Knowledge of the BC curriculum and competencies;
- Strong assessment practices including assessment as and for learning;
- Successful experience integrating local Indigenous culture and traditions into curriculum or familiarity with and understanding of local Indigenous culture and commitment to integrate it into the curriculum;
- The ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies to accommodate the learning needs of all students;
- Successful experience integrating experiential and/or inquiry learning opportunities into the curriculum;
- A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills;
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in a team setting;
- A commitment to and demonstrated experience using and integrating technology into the curriculum;
- The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students staff parents and the greater community.
The salary range for full-time teaching positions within Gold Trail School District is $60076 to $109 520 with placement in accordance with provisions in the Collective Agreement. The district offers a competitive benefits and pension package. APPLICATIONS:

The Gold Trail School District has received approval from BCs Office of the Human Rights Commissioner allowing preferential hiring to persons of Indigenous ancestry.
