Job Description
Preferred Primary Care Physicians is seeking an experienced Director of Information Technology to lead our organizations technology planning security infrastructure and support services. This is a high-profile leadership role responsible for aligning technology with organizational goals ensuring compliance overseeing IT operations and fostering team development. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION. POSITION LOCATED IN CANONSBURG PA
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic IT Leadership: Drive long-term IT strategy align technology initiatives with organizational goals and ensure policy compliance.
- Infrastructure Planning: Assess current systems identify gaps and plan for scalable secure and reliable infrastructure upgrades.
- Security Management: Lead enterprise-wide security strategies aligned with HIPAA and PCI-DSS. Oversee access controls EDR MFA vulnerability assessments and staff training.
- Database Management: Oversee Microsoft SQL Server environments performance tuning backups and data extraction for analytics.
- Project & Budget Oversight: Manage IT projects vendor relationships and technology expenditures to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Compliance and Auditing: Perform regular audits and risk assessments. Maintain disaster recovery and information security policies.
- Data Operations: Manage email discovery litigation holds and data conversions from legacy EMRs to Medent.
- App Development: Maintain Python-based tools for patient data extraction from legacy systems.
- Technical Support: Manage in-house support group; provide high-level support and guidance for escalated issues across clinical and productivity systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership in IT strategic planning and team development.
- Strong expertise in infrastructure assessment and lifecycle management.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise security frameworks and regulatory compliance (HIPAA PCI-DSS).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server including performance tuning and backup management.
- Familiarity with modern backup DRP and email compliance tools (Microsoft 365).
- Experience in IT budgeting auditing and vendor contract management.
- Ability to manage custom development projects (e.g. Python tools for legacy systems).
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Healthcare experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
- Certifications in Security (e.g. CISSP CISM) Microsoft SQL Server or Project Management (e.g. PMP).
- Prior experience in healthcare IT environments or working with EMR systems like Medent and Centricty
