Job Description
This is a full-time 40 hour a week position with a 4 day work week. Schedule will include shifts every other Sunday but no major holidays.
THE POSITION:
The Internal and General Medicine Technician/Assistant works collaboratively with their assigned veterinarian other staff veterinarians and the entire Angell West Support Staff to provide Angell West Clientele with excellent clinical and customer service. 20 hours will be spent in Internal Medicine and 20 hours will be spent in General Medicine.
Some of the duties include:
- Performing animal handling and restraint techniques
- Providing exceptional client service through professional friendly and effective communication with both internal and external customers
- Preparing and completing administrative tasks in relation to admissions financial estimates discharges scheduling in-house procedures and maintaining medical records
- Assisting veterinarians with anesthesia surgical procedures collecting lab samples reviewing lab results etc.
- Maintaining basic knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and pharmacology
- Aiding in the training and growth development of new and current employees interns and externs

COMPENSATION:
Veterinary Assistants starting $22-$27/hour
Certified Veterinary Technicians starting $25-$30/hr $5000 Sign on Bonus for CVTs!
Please note that candidates with additional experience or credentials may be eligible for compensation aligned with their qualifications
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for applicants with at least one of experience working as a veterinary technician/assistant. Experience working in a fast-paced multi-veterinarian hospital emergency practice or veterinary teaching hospital is ideal. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
