Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Architecture Designer for our growing Atlanta GA Building Places team to work on interesting and challenging projects for a variety of clients.

AECOMs Buildings Places practice includes architecture interiors building engineering workplace strategy business transformation asset advisory economics and development planning master planning urban planning and landscape architecture. With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization we create better outcomes to grow economies protect natural systems conserve natural resources make societies more equitable and connect and engage people through innovative sustainable design solutions.

The responsibilities of the Architecture Designer will include but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
  • Preparing specifications reports and related data tables.
  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Preparing reviewing and approving drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering or a related field and 4 years in architecture experience covering aspects of building design including survey design development construction documents construction administration or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.
  • Must be experienced in Revit.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in large and complex projects/programs.
  • Experience with government agencies/projects.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project.
  • Professional experience using a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD Revit Rhinoceros Bentley MicroStation Open Buildings Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop PowerPoint InDesign Illustrator MS Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm highly motivated and detail oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent technical and relationship building skills.
  • Must be able to work well with clients staff and consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of local and national building codes.
  • Management experience on BIM projects highly desirable.
  • Understanding of pre-development efforts.
