Job Description
Overview
The Chattanooga Heart Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac care available in this region. Founded in 1976 we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. Responsibilities
Job Summary:
To oversee the day to day floor operations in the schedulingdepartment to ensure that patients are being scheduled and seen in clinic in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee front desk/check out at Main Campus.
- Oversee physician schedules to ensure that schedules are booked appropriately and completely.
- Participate in training of new staff.
- Working knowledge of all functions within the scheduling department.
- Resolve staff related problems.
- Work with other supervisors/managers to resolve schedulingproblems or to resolve patient concerns.
- Consult with physicians/clinical staff to schedule patients or resolve scheduling questions.
- Provide timely and accurate feedback on processes and challenges to the Scheduling Manager.
- Provide and implement process improvement ideas.
- Work in all areas during peak times vacations illnesses etc.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline OR 3 years experience in the discipline OR Masters Degree and no experience.
- Five years in medical registration/scheduling setting preferred.
