Position Summary:
The City of Prescott Department of Public Works is seeking an experienced knowledgeable and collaborative professional for the position of Maintenance Specialist with experience in the wastewater industry. Under direct supervision of the Wastewater Operations Supervisor the Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures in addition to performing grounds maintenance. Prior experience in a maintenance role at a wastewater facility and/or a mechanical and electrical background is required

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; progressive experience in the maintenance of wastewater facilities or related field with two years performing full-time maintenance work. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in electrical mechanical plumbing building & grounds maintenance and computer programs. Must possess a valid Arizona Class D Drivers License and an ADEQ Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification or must be obtained within twelve months of being placed into the position.

Knowledge Skill and Abilities:
Physical and Visual Ability:
Sufficient to effectively perform required duties and to safely operate required equipment and city vehicles as needed; must be able to see clearly with correction if necessary during both day and night and in potentially adverse weather conditions; must possess ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time and capable of lifting 60 pounds frequently with a maximum of 100 pounds.
