The Impact You Will Have
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in Eagan MN supporting the Coupe business unit. This role is integral to core financial operations including month-end close reporting budgeting and forecasting. The Financial Analyst will provide critical insights through financial analysis trend evaluation and variance analysis. Responsibilities also include developing analytical models collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving process improvements. This position serves as a key financial resource helping to inform strategic decisions and ensure accurate actionable reporting.
The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of professional experience in finance or accounting and is comfortable with tasks such as managing funding requests journal entries/closing books and creating monthly and ad hoc reporting for management. They have strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of financial reporting and accounting processes. Experience with general ledger systems financial planning tools Microsoft Excel and cross-functional collaboration is highly valued.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyzes financial results trends performance metrics and provides root cause analysis to support business decisions.
- Analyze and report on key drivers of revenue and expense forecasting and other financial data draw conclusions and present recommendations on findings.
- Perform detailed variance analysis by line of business company and within divisions against budget forecast prior periods or other benchmarks.
- Maintains and/or assists with development of analytical models for margin analysis volume/price mix operational/vendor analysis forecasting models and other projects as assigned.
- Assists with the development and preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Identify analyze and recommend process improvements and other ad hoc analysis.
- Navigate through various systems and departments to obtain accurate information to be utilized in the budget forecasting and other ad hoc analysis/projects.
- Maintain/prepare operational analytical reports related to resource capacity planning capital non-operating activities and expenses.
- In conjunction with manager foster relationships with business owners and be a resource on financial issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experiences
- 2 years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work education transferable skills and military experience will be considered.
- Skills/Abilities: Strong communication analytical skills problem resolution organization skills and proficiency in MS office applications.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment manage multiple tasks and ability to shift gears and priorities.
- High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills and Experiences
- Bachelors degree.
- Healthcare Industry background.
- Experience with general ledger systems.
- Experience with financial planning tools.

Compensation and Benefits
$67200.00 - $89100.00 - $111000.00 AnnualPay is based on several factors which vary based on position including skills ability and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
