Title: Banquet Cook
Department:Hotel Arista Kitchen
Reports to:Executive Sous Chef
Status: Hourly Non-exempt
Compensation:$22.00 - 24.00/hour

Role Summary:
The Banquet Cook is responsible for creating an exceptional culinary experience for our event guests through the preparation and presentation of our events menu.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assists cooks and chefs in the preparation of foods according to event orders or supervisors instructions following approved procedures.
  2. Preps food for banquets in accordance to established standardized recipes.
  3. Sets up station and ensures that the work area is operated in an efficient manner.
  4. Follows recipes portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the banquet Chefs.
  5. Cleans as needed throughout shift.
  6. Supports the cross-training efforts of the chef.
  7. Informs supervisor of any kitchen machinery that is not working properly.
  8. Properly stores food labeled and dated in designated containers and areas to prevent spoilage.
  9. Assists in the cleaning sanitation and organization of kitchen walk-in coolers and all storage areas
  10. Follows hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  11. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education
  1. High school diploma or equivalent education
  2. Culinary degree from a recognized culinary institute or equivalent experience

Experience
  1. One year experience as a line cook preferred
  2. Knowledge of safety sanitation and food handling procedures.

Skills
  1. Neat and clean appearance
  2. Ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements
  1. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours.
  2. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular and continuing basis.
