Position Summary:
Box Scalers are responsible for weighing of beef pork lamb veal and seafood products ensuring all boxes and packages are labeled correctly for either stock or customers orders.
Work Schedule: Sunday - Friday from 3pm until finish
Rate of Pay: $16.00/hr
Essential Functions:
Weighs and labels boxes and packages in an accurate and timely manner.
Follows company standardized pack specifications along with any customer specified deviations as communicated through special instructions via work orders/cut tickets.
Accurately reads and comprehends all customer specific special instructions.
Performs Quality control checks and communicates with supervisors and managers regarding any defects.
Inspects meat products for defects bruises or blemishes.
Offers assistance to other team members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Must have ability to read write and communicate in English.
Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells alarms and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up movement or approach of equipment (including forklifts turrets overhead cranes conveyors trucks and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse) mechanical abnormalities and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
Must have working knowledge of production equipment.
Must be able to understand and follow all Food Safety Guidelines and Occupational Safety Guidelines .
