Holy Rosary School prepares children to be living disciples of Jesus Christ. We educate the whole child; academically spiritually socially and emotionally. Our parish school embraces the dignity of each person by igniting the love of learning and promoting a safe supportive community to serve God and others. We are actively seeking a School Custodian to support our educational team and facility.

FTE: .5 FTE with opportunities for additional hours seasonally and approved by administration.

Job Description: The School Custodian is primarily responsible for ensuring that the school buildings grounds equipment and furnishings are kept in a clean orderly and functional condition at all times supporting a positive and safe learning environment.

Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or equivalent

-Prior experience in custodial-type field (preferred)

-Possesses skills in cleaning methods using cleaning equipment and solutions basic repair and maintenance and potentially groundskeeping (preferred)

-Ability to engage in considerable physical activity including frequent lifting bending standing and walking for extended periods.

-May require moving heavy objects (up to 50 pounds or more)

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

-Cleaning & Sanitation: Sweeping mopping vacuuming floors cleaning and sanitizing restrooms (as needed basis) dusting emptying trash receptacles and restocking supplies.

-Minor Repairs & Maintenance: Performing basic repairs such as changing light bulbs fixing small leaks or tightening loose fixtures. Also reporting major maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

-Groundskeeping: Maintaining the school grounds including tasks like sweeping debris from sidewalks and stairs assisting with snow removal and grounds upkeep.

-Security: Locking and unlocking doors maintaining access to different rooms and monitoring the building for any unusual activities or security risks.

-Event Support: Setting up and taking down tables and chairs for school events meetings and other activities.

-Safety: Following established safety procedures for using cleaning chemicals operating equipment and performing tasks to prevent accidents and hazards.

-Inventory Management: Assisting with maintaining the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.

-Communication: Interacting with staff students and sometimes parents responding to requests and conveying information about facilities.

Compensation: $25-30/hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certification. Should the position include 30 or more hours per week a comprehensive benefits package may be offered including two medical plan options dental vision life accidental death and disability pension 403 (b) HSA FSA sick leave vacation and holidays.
