YOUR NEW ROLE
The role plays a pivotal role in ensuring effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals and staff at Sydney Opera House (SOH) as well as its external stakeholders including for Sydney Opera House Presents (SOHP) performances and events. By providing professional interpretation services in Auslan the role facilitates inclusive practices enhances accessibility and fosters equitable participation in all organisational activities. This directly contributes to the Opera Houses ambition to be Everyones House and its commitment to equity and inclusion ensuring that all individuals can engage fully and effectively.

ARE YOU THE ONE
You might be the right fit if you have:
Expertise in Auslan interpreting and translation and deep understanding of Deaf culture with years of demonstrated experience and training with interpreting and translation.
Demonstrated deep understanding of the experiences and challenges encountered by people with disability and or deaf backgrounds.
Must hold a Certified Interpreter or higher qualifications maintain NAATI Certification and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Must hold a Working with Children Check (WWWC).
Demonstrated ability to interpret in live performance settings.
