The receptionist welcomes patients to the facility and answers preliminary non-medical questions for patients. Also schedules appointments organizes the facilitys calendars and is the liaison between medical professionals and patients. Additional job responsibilities will include answering phones filing locating and organizing patient records. Maintaining office supplies and forms necessary to carry out office efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Greets all patients and walk-ins with a friendly welcoming and timely manner.
- Schedules appointments or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
- Receives money for bills.
- Keeps lab testing and other medical records up to date.
- Completes insurance forms.
- Travel to other Vista Health sites may be required.
- Solicit feedback on the effectiveness of communication.
- Communicate honestly; proactively communicate both good and bad news. Provide timely communication.
- Let staff know how their actions have contributed to the greater vision.
- Collaborate with internal staff; provide the care and service needed as described in the departments policies and procedures
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
