Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Entry to Mid-Level Software Engineer to join our Data Center Hardware Engineering Tools team focused on building telemetry and monitoring solutions for server hardware. The ideal candidate will maintain and develop software agents to collect telemetry data from servers and surface insights via visual dashboards (Tableau Grafana) and will be responsible for building backend agents in Python or Golang to collect hardware health data designing and maintaining databases developing APIs and web-based UIs (preferably in Django) and integrating solutions into CI/CD pipelines using Docker Kubernetes and Jenkins. Experience working with large datasets and asynchronous worker patterns is essential.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related field with 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python or Golang with experience developing system agents.
- Experience with Linux OS (and its tools such as BASH scripting iostat sudo make gcc etc...) and hardware data collection tools (e.g. dmidecode smartctl nvme-cli) for storage telemetry.
- Experience designing and managing SQL databases.
- Ability to design RESTful APIs and backend logic to serve telemetry data.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools: Docker Kubernetes Jenkins Git.
- Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau and Grafana.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a small team.
- Be familiar with AI coding tools.
- Exposure to hyperscale computing data engineering or related field.
- Experience developing web interfaces with Django or other Python-based frameworks.
- Understanding of time-series data storage and visualization strategies.
- Experience integrating hardware telemetry into observability platforms.
- Knowledge of system performance metrics and hardware health indicators.
- Experience processing and managing large datasets using worker patterns in Python (e.g. Celery)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to derive actionable business recommendations based on analytical findings.
