Campus Location:This position offers a hybrid schedule of 2 days onsite at any of our Indiana Kentucky & Ohio Education Centers as well as 3 days remote each week. Our education centers are located in: Merrillville Fort Wayne Kokomo Marion Indianapolis and Greenwood IN; Cleveland Dayton and Cincinnati OH; and Louisville KY.
Summary of Position: The Director of Military Engagement will increase enrollment and retention of active duty military and veterans through unique services and support making IWU the best place for military students to get a Christian online degree. This role will monitor report on and develop strategies to support and increase military student retention graduation rate enrollment satisfaction and belonging for IWU National & Global military aligned students. This includes developing and lead the successful implementation of a rolling 1 3 and 5 year plan for student success for military students while also developing strong partnerships with university enrollment chaplains academic advisors new student coaches financial aid and career advancement teams to increase military student enrollment retention and graduation rates. This role will be responsible for developing partnerships with military-related organizations to help increase student enrollment retention and career placement of our military students. This position will also support compliance with the Department of Defense Veterans Affairs agencies to support enrollment and financial aid efforts. This role is expected to demonstrate a Christian worldview and uphold the Universitys Christ-centered mission in interactions with students faculty and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor report on and develop strategies to support and increase military student retention graduation rate enrollment satisfaction and belonging for IWU National & Global military aligned students
- Develop and lead the successful implementation of a rolling 1 3 and 5 year plan for student success for military students
- Develop strong partnerships with university enrollment chaplains academic advisors new student coaches financial aid and career advancement teams to increase military student enrollment retention and graduation rates
- Develop partnerships with military-related organizations to help increase student enrollment retention and career placement of our military students
- Utilize technology available for proactive & creative outreach community building and support
- Support compliance with the Department of Defense Veterans Affairs agencies to support enrollment and financial aid efforts
- Lead ongoing outreach to and support of IWU N&G military affiliated students
- Other duties as assigned

Education - Bachelors required; Masters degree preferred
Experience - Five to seven (5-7) years of significant leadership experience in higher education organizational leadership business development or entrepreneurial ventures working with military students and families
- Extensive experience managing change and pivoting to alternative solutions to problems as they emerge
- Demonstrated skills in team building and collaborative leadership
- Record of strong oral written and interpersonal communication skills
- Leadership experience including responsibility for operational functions in a complex organization
- Ability to work under strict deadlines with high urgency and accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to develop and efficiently manage operational and capital budget
Required Skills - Display the ability to execute fast program growth
- Ability to lead a team of faculty staff and community partners
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks work autonomously and produce results quickly
- Computer literate
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and execute ambiguous assignments

- Strong writing ability including grant and report writing
