Caterpillar is seeking a Paralegal to join its legal team in Albertville Alabama.The paralegal will be responsible for assisting corporate attorneys with legal tasks and activities to support Caterpillars Rail team through its wholly owned subsidiary Progress Rail Paralegal role will work directly as a partner with attorneys and internal business clients to support commercial contracts and related activities which are implemented to help achieve the clients business goals and objectives covering the Rail teams global footprint. The successful applicant will serve as trusted support to corporate attorneys and the internal business teams. This role works directly with Caterpillar and Progress Rail teams globally as well as other legal professionals and reports to an Assistant General Counsel for Rail sitting in Mannheim Germany.
What You Will Do:
- Conducting legal tasks such as contract drafting and related support due diligence and research under the supervision of corporate legal attorneys
- Assisting corporate legal attorneys in resolving routine legal issues
- Work closely with Rail business unit leadership and staff as well as relevant subject matter experts
- Collaborate with members of the enterprise legal team and regional legal teams to ensure the provision of responsive and high-quality legal support globally
- Maintaining repositories of legal documentation and procedures
What You Have:
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
- Confidentiality: Knowledge of practices and policies governing disclosure of information about the organization its business activities and employees; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; Willing to work independently take initiative bear risks make timely decisions and take responsibilities to resolve problems and improve business results
- Effective Communications: Proficient in creating and presenting verbal and written communications in a variety of communication settings. Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; Ability to collaborate and maintain working relationships vertically and horizontally across levels and various business functions and with external parties
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to independently manage multiple concurrent objectives projects groups or activities making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
- Document Management: Knowledge of document management; ability to categorize integrate update document and distribute business information in a secure effective way
- Legal Analysis: Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information
Degree and Experience Requirements (include all of the following):
- Paralegal certificate (not required if 2- or 4-year degree is in Paralegal Studies)
- 2 or 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
- Considerable paralegal job-related experience

- The primary location for this position is Albertville Alabama (Progress Rail corporate office)

Summary Pay Range:
$71040.00 - $106440.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
