The Job:

The Tooling Buyer/Planner plans and orders tooling based on customer due dates and production schedules.

As a Tooling Buyer/Planner youll be part of our Aerospace team working as an onsite employee. Youll get to:

• Update and maintain stock levels for non-perishable tools and shop supplies.
• Coordinate with the engineering department to update and maintain tool drawings.
• Update/maintain bills of material.
• Coordinate and incorporate tooling needs for the production floor.
• Update/maintain tooling inventory.
• Confers with department supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects.
• Prepare production reports. Prepares lists of required materials tools and equipment.
• Prepare purchase orders to obtain materials tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve department and facility goals
• Provide continuous improvement ideas for the team

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or a minimum of three-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• APICS Certification and/or tool and die maker apprenticeship Preferred
• Familiarity with JD Edwards enterprise one ASCP and Oracle Advanced supply chain process software.
• Ability to read analyze and interpret tool drawings and bills of material.
• Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers customers and other employees.
• Ability to speak read and write in English.
• Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals; ability to interpret bar graphs. Also must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

The base pay range for this position in California is $ per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position offered.
