Job Description

Job Title: Parts Counter Salesperson
Department: Parts Department

Reports To: Parts Manager

Jack Madden Ford is a leading wholesale and retail Ford parts distributor with a longstanding reputation for excellence in customer service product knowledge and efficient delivery. We serve a wide range of customers including body shops repair facilities and retail clients across the region.

Position Summary:

The Parts Counter Salesperson is responsible for assisting wholesale and retail customers with parts inquiries orders and support both in-person and via phone or electronic communication. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong customer relationships ensuring order accuracy and contributing to overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers and service technicians in identifying required parts using electronic catalogs and other resources.
  • Process parts orders accurately and efficiently through the dealerships DMS (Dealer Management System).
  • Provide price quotes availability information and delivery timelines to wholesale and retail customers.
  • Handle phone walk-in and online orders in a timely professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with wholesale accounts by providing exceptional service and support.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and delivery staff to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of parts.
  • Follow up on back ordered items and communicate status updates to customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Ford parts and accessories promotions and warranty policies.
  • Support inventory control through returns processing stock adjustments and periodic counts.
  • Work collaboratively with the service and body shop departments to fulfill internal parts requests.
  • Comply with all safety standards dealership policies and manufacturer guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training a plus.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in automotive parts sales preferably in a dealership or wholesale environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems Ford OEM parts preferred.
  • Proficient in using parts lookup software (such as Snap on Ford EPC) and DMS systems (e.g. CDK Reynolds).
  • Excellent communication organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending lifting and carrying of parts up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of computer terminals phones and standard office equipment.
