This is a Stanford Health Care job.

As a Project Engineer within Facilities Planning & Design you will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of capital projects across all project phases specifically focusing on land use and entitlements design and medical and space planning. You will serve as the central hub for project communications documentation and coordination between project leadership internal teams contractors and stakeholders. As part of the Operational Excellence team you may support projects in multiple areas. You demonstrate a strong aptitude for utilizing technology tools within the Microsoft 365 suite and proactively seek opportunities to learn and implement new tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly meet with all parties to monitor progress address issues and track project status across all stages.

  • Prepare agendas record discussions process key points and distribute meeting minutes to ensure alignment and follow-through on actions.

  • Create review verify and archive project-related documents including drawings specifications estimates and correspondence ensuring accuracy and accessibility.

  • Develop and design PowerPoint slides for project presentations demonstrating proficiency in using PowerPoint to create professional and impactful presentations that effectively communicate project progress and outcomes.

  • Maintain organized and compliant document control systems guaranteeing accuracy clarity and completeness.

  • Collate governance committee materials from various sources create and process project change orders and other construction documents.

  • Serve as a liaison maintaining ongoing communications with planning teams construction teams contractors and management.

  • Perform additional engineering and project support duties as to keep projects on track.

You will serve as the central hub for project communications documentation and coordination directly enhancing project outcomes and supporting the organizations growth.


A Brief Overview
Plans organizes manages and is responsible for all document control and distribution processes and systems for the Planning Design & Construction (PD&C) Department including all construction project-related documentation received from and sent to the contractor architect and internal staff from initial planning and early development of a project through its completion.

What you will do

  • Meets regularly with all the parties involved to stay abreast of and track the status of construction projects at all stages. Prepares meeting agendas as needed and records and distributes minutes summarizing matters discussed and actions approved.
  • Scan distribute and file documents including (but not limited to) project designs drawings specifications estimates and correspondence to the appropriate archival repository.
  • Verify and correct project-related documentation where needed.
  • Ensures that document control and distribution systems processes and procedures are organized accurate clear and complete.
  • Maintains effective and on-going communications with construction and contractor management teams.
  • Provides initial review of pay applications change orders and other incoming construction documents.
  • Performs other project engineering and project management-related duties as well as incidental duties as needed or assigned.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Degree in a work-related discipline/field (Architecture Engineering Construction Management) Preferred
  • Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree is in addition to the experience requirements for this position.


Experience Qualifications

  • Three or more years of related experience in construction design or construction management Required


Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and ability to use project management tools.
  • Knowledge of CAD system CAFM estimating cost control scheduling construction administration quality control and specific writing and place planning.
  • Knowledge of technical and professional requirements in the fields of healthcare delivery architecture and the building design process and construction.
  • Knowledge of project management accounting construction design construction methods building materials sustainability mechanical and electrical construction cost estimation building codes and standards and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of OSHPD forms applications fees permits test and inspection forms.
  • Knowledge of RFI PCO submittal and invoicing processes.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite business software applications.
  • Ability to organize and complete project documentation.
  • Ability to read drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to plan organize prioritize and complete work within deadlines ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at each step.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with and gain the cooperation of others at all levels both within and outside SHC.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $54.22 - $71.84 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
