Job Description:
The Director Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a strategic finance leader responsible for delivering insights that drive business performance financial accountability and informed decision-making. This role partners closely with business leaders and senior management to manage key financial processes including budgeting forecasting reporting and expense oversight. The ideal candidate is a proactive collaborative and analytical leader with a passion for continuous improvement and data integrity.
Responsibilities
Lead the annual plan quarterly forecasts (Month 1 Month 2) and long-range planning processes for the Sun Life U.S. Business Group.
Prepare and deliver theactual consolidated financial results and key performance indicators (KPIs)on a quarterly basis.
Prepare and deliver theQuarterly Financial Review (QFR)andQuarterly Business Review (QBR) working closely with senior leaders to highlight results trends and strategic focus areas.
Analyze and communicate financial performance including variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast/budget) with clear actionable insights.
Review and reconcile financial reporting deliverables including thefinancial supplement ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Partner with business leaders to understand financial drivers identify risks and opportunities and support operational execution.
Drive process improvement and automation efforts using Excel Tableau Workiva and PowerPoint.
Lead and develop a team of two financial analysts; build a strong performance culture and support professional development.
Support ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives including M&A rating agency materials investor day materials etc.
Qualifications and Preferred skills
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field; CPA CFA or MBA strongly preferred.
10 years of progressive corporate finance experience including 35 years in a leadership role.
Proven expertise in financial planning reporting forecasting and variance analysis.
Strong technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency with Tableau and Workiva a plus.
Excellent communicator with the ability to translate financial data into clear narratives for executive and cross-functional audiences.
Experience in insurance or financial services is highly desirable.
Strong leadership and collaboration skills; able to influence without authority and work effectively across departments.
Salary Range: $135100 - $202700
