VPS 4.1: $97955per annum 12% superannuation

Full Time Fixed Term for 2 years

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Publicist to develop and deliver publicity campaigns that support the NGVs communications public relations and audience engagement strategies.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

You will be responsible for developing and executing high-level and strategic publicity and content campaigns that positively promote NGVs exhibitions major events programs festivals and activities as well as media and publicity campaigns including pitching drafting media materials and organising media events for NGVs exhibitions and programs in association with the Senior Publicist and Associate Director Media and Public Affairs. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying developing and maintaining key relationships with local national and international media that enhance the promotion of NGVs exhibitions and programs.
  • Working closely with the Senior Publicist and Associate Director Media and Public Affairs and the Marketing and Corporate Partnerships teams to support the strategic goals of our corporate partners by executing high-level media and content campaigns.
  • Contributing to reports regarding the activities of the Media and Public Affairs department and providing administration and logistical support in relation to publicity and media activities.

To be successful you will have a tertiary qualification in communications or public relations with demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of media and communication strategies in the corporate marketing and public affairs environments coupled with excellent creative writing and editorial skills.

You can prepare media releases key messages speeches letters emails and reports using clear concise and grammatically correct language ensure written communications contain necessary information to achieve their purpose and use appropriate styles and formats.
