Executive Director of Library Services Job Descriptions
Reports to the Vice President of Instruction. The major duties and responsibilities include:
- Supervising the facility and operation of the Learning Resource Center.
- Managing and assuming primary responsibility of the selection acquisition preparation preservation cataloging use and maintenance of all instructional support materials and equipment.
- Assisting faculty in the selection and use of library materials.
- Assisting students in the selection and use of library materials.
- Initiating and supervising inter-library loans and coordinating cooperative relationships with other libraries and agencies.
- Supervising and evaluating Learning Resource staff.
- Making available to faculty periodic lists of new materials in the library.
- Compiling and making necessary reports to state federal and professional agencies and to the College administration.
- Formulating learning resources policies/procedures with the advice of the Learning Resource Committee and recommending these policies/procedures to the Vice President of Instruction.
- Monitoring expenditures for the budget allocated to the Learning Resource Center.
- Serving on College committees where contributions are deemed appropriate.
- Being responsible for the following media functions:
- Circulation repair and maintenance of equipment and materials.
- Inventory of software and equipment.
- Acquisition and receiving of materials.
- Assist patrons in the use of the software and equipment in the center.
- Assist faculty in providing media materials for instructional support.
- Develop special programs engagement activities Presentations and instructional workshops that support library and college activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters degree required.
Experience: At least 2 years work-related experience
