Job Summary:
This role involves providing respiratory therapy services to patients in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and adult ICU within a Level II trauma center. The Respiratory Therapist will administer various respiratory treatments operate ventilators and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care. Experience in adult critical care and trauma is required.
Location: Anchorage Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Administering respiratory treatments including NIV high flow oxygen nebulizers CPT nitric oxide and Flolan nebulizer.
- Operating and maintaining various ventilators (Draeger Servo-I 3100A 3100B Jet ventilators).
- Assessing and monitoring patient respiratory status.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Charting patient progress and treatment in electronic medical records (Epic).
- Performing other duties as assigned to meet facility needs within scope of practice.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Respiratory Therapist license.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- BLS certification.
- CRT certification.
- Experience in adult critical care and trauma.
- Ability to work weekends.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- NICU/PICU experience.
Special Considerations:
- This is a full-time position with a 3x12-hour day shift schedule.
- Weekend work is required.
- Clinicians will float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs.
- Guaranteed hours are 60 per two weeks with the possibility of being called off for one 12-hour shift per two weeks.
- On-call is not required.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Time off is approved on an individual basis upon offer.
Scheduling:
- 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week.
- Weekend rotation required.
- Guaranteed 60 hours bi-weekly.
