Provo City is looking for an Aquatics Coordinator to provide professional work responsible for planning organizing and implementing the Citys Aquatics Programs. What is the compensation

Pay Rate: (G24 25 27) $23.09-$36.86 per hour (depending on experience)

What are the main duties

  • Plan develop organize schedule implement create and evaluate various aquatics and general recreational programs for community and recreation center programs.

  • Order supplies and purchase program specific materials.

  • Assist with creation of division budget.

  • Create flyers brochures announcements and various program specific marketing materials.

  • Supervise part-time staff and/or volunteers assigned to specific programs.

  • Assist in the recruitment evaluation and training of staff.

  • Ensure that part-time staff and/or volunteers understand communicate and enforce the rules and regulations of the assigned program.

  • Solicit information from program participants.

  • Recommend policy changes.

  • Assist other staff members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.

What are the minimum requirements

At all levels an equivalent combination of job-related education and experience may be substituted (each 1 year of post-secondary education/training for 6 months of experience).

All Levels

  • ABachelors degree in Recreation Physical Education or closely related field. Certification in Lifeguarding and Water Safety instruction. A valid lawful Driver License.

Coordinator II:

  • 1 year of experience in recreational program management.

Coordinator III:

  • 3 years of experience in recreational program management and an NRPA Parks and Recreation Professional Certificate.

Preference given to those candidates with certification in Lifeguard Instructor Water Safety Instructor Trainer and pool operation.

What is the selection process

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted with the first screening being held on August 13 2025. Applicants mustmeet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.

If selected for hire candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
