POSITION PURPOSE

The Data Associate is responsible for the setup maintenance and deletion of products in the merchandising system database. This position follows system and processing guidelines to maintain data integrity and assists in the creation and maintenance of business rules and standards for master data governance. The Data Associate requires accuracy of work with excellent attention to detail time management and organizational skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  1. *Responsible for upholding data standards through accurate data entry and auditing.
  2. Manually enters vendor and item information into merchandising system database upon receipt of new item or vendor request from Category Managers and Analysts.
  3. Ensures accuracy of data before additions and/or changes are made to the merchandising system database.
  4. Validates and maintains all merchandising system database fields and hierarchies in order to preserve data quality and accuracy in all reporting.
  5. *Audits information and assists in the resolution of inquiries regarding data integrity.
  6. Supports our stores by responding to issues reported. Works with Category Managers and Analysts to determine actions needed to resolve the issue.
  7. Identifies and recommends solutions for all data issues to leader.
  8. Receives researches and resolves data problems and questions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree and a minimum of one (1) year of related data coordination and/or data entry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master Data Governance experience preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • General knowledge of office procedures.
  • Microsoft Office Suite

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Customer service focus.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
  • Follow established operating procedures.
  • Meet daily production goals.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a high degree of initiative and be results oriented.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS -Employees may occasionally experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:

  • Work is sedentary; sitting most of the time.
  • Keyboarding; use hands to enter data into computer.
  • Viewing computer monitor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a normal ON-SITE business office environment.
