The Stanford Department of Pathology seeks an outstanding MD MD/PhD or PhD with expertise in molecular pathology or clinical cytogenetics and genomics for appointment at the rank of Assistant Associate or Full Professor in the University Medical Line or Clinician Educator Line. Board eligibility or equivalent training in Cytogenetics Laboratory Genetics and Genomics or Molecular Genetic Pathology is required. The successful candidate will share clinical responsibilities and be expected to collaborate with other faculty in test development and a shared vision of comprehensive germline and somatic genomic laboratories serving our patients.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care clinical teaching scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care teaching administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Successful candidates will join the faculty in the Department of Pathology which currently includes a Nobel laureate multiple members of the National Academies and many other investigators with national and international conjunction with its outstanding research program the Department of Pathology is responsible annually for over 20 million laboratory tests and 100000 anatomic pathology specimens and educates outstanding graduate students residents and fellows.

The expected based pay range for this position is:
Assistant Professor: $264000 - $282000
Associate Professor: $313000 - $331000
Professor: $373000 - $385000
This pay range reflects base pay which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicines faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
