Job Description
- Supervise and assist personnel in the storage assembly and loading of products for shipment ensuring compliance with D.O.T. regulations and legal load limits across various states.
- Coordinate daily with Sales Transportation and other departments to schedule shipments and ensure availability of necessary equipment including non-company-owned resources.
- Oversee the condition and organization of storage areas and product inventory adjusting as needed to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in the receiving inspection and disposition of inventory items purchased for resale and returned company products.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all received and shipped products including reconciliation of discrepancies and coordination of physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Lead and train subordinates in safety practices housekeeping standards inventory accuracy and job awareness.
- Coordinate boxing of component parts into sales assemblies based on production flow warehouse capacity and customer demand.
- Act as liaison between the shipping department and other departments to support special projects and ensure a timely delivery service.
- Recommend and implement improvements to shipping operations including layout optimization packing methods and loading techniques.
- Ensure clean and orderly work and storage areas; conduct regular inspections and schedule appropriate cleanup.
- Manage documentation and data related to shipping receiving and inventory transactions.
- Handle returned products coordinate refurbishment with Quality Control and Production Finishing and ensure proper documentation.
- Work effectively in a sometimes pressure-filled environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering and working in the plant.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the National Distribution Manager.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
- 67 years of experience in shipping logistics or related field.
- Strong knowledge of shipping practices D.O.T. regulations and product handling.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Ability to coordinate multiple departments and manage complex schedules.
- Strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping documentation.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat dust inclement weather).
- Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and consistently follow safety rules and procedures.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential.
