Job Description

  • Supervise and assist personnel in the storage assembly and loading of products for shipment ensuring compliance with D.O.T. regulations and legal load limits across various states.
  • Coordinate daily with Sales Transportation and other departments to schedule shipments and ensure availability of necessary equipment including non-company-owned resources.
  • Oversee the condition and organization of storage areas and product inventory adjusting as needed to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in the receiving inspection and disposition of inventory items purchased for resale and returned company products.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all received and shipped products including reconciliation of discrepancies and coordination of physical inventories and cycle counts.
  • Lead and train subordinates in safety practices housekeeping standards inventory accuracy and job awareness.
  • Coordinate boxing of component parts into sales assemblies based on production flow warehouse capacity and customer demand.
  • Act as liaison between the shipping department and other departments to support special projects and ensure a timely delivery service.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to shipping operations including layout optimization packing methods and loading techniques.
  • Ensure clean and orderly work and storage areas; conduct regular inspections and schedule appropriate cleanup.
  • Manage documentation and data related to shipping receiving and inventory transactions.
  • Handle returned products coordinate refurbishment with Quality Control and Production Finishing and ensure proper documentation.
  • Work effectively in a sometimes pressure-filled environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering and working in the plant.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the National Distribution Manager.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
  • 67 years of experience in shipping logistics or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping practices D.O.T. regulations and product handling.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple departments and manage complex schedules.
  • Strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping documentation.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat dust inclement weather).
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and consistently follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential.
