The MI Developmental Disabilities Council (MIDDC) is an advocacy organization operating under the auspices of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act as amended in 2000. The Council is mandated to provide advocacy systems change and capacity building activities with and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Position reports to the Executive Director (ED) of the MIDDC and provides secretarial and executive support to the ED. Position has responsibilities for managing and maintaining the Administrators schedule; managing and supporting all operations related to council meetings and council members. Position coordinates office management activities prepares confidential and sensitive documents receives and screens incoming calls; drafts reviews proofreads and edits documents prepared for executive directors signature. Interacts with top state administrators high-level executives federal employees staff and the public in order to represent the ED. This position uses up-to-date knowledge of office policies and procedures goals priorities and initiatives along with knowledge of the Administrator opinions and preferences to facilitate the Administrators workload and relieve the Administrator of routine administrative and office support tasks.

Education
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience
Five years of office experience involving administrative support practices including two years equivalent to advanced (8) level administrative support work Secretary E8 or Legal Secretary E8; or one year equivalent to a Secretary 9 Legal Secretary 9 or Senior Executive Management Assistant 9.
