Job Description

The mission of the Office for Public Good Strategy and Research (OPG) is to advance institutional readiness for collaboration among students staff faculty and community partners for public good discovery. The OPG is situated in Academic Affairs which embodies DUs public good vision by advancing collaboration that supports intellectual inquiry integrative learning and public good discovery. Of the four academic areas that are core to Academic Affairs OPG programs and initiatives contribute directly to 1) Public Good Strategy and Research and 2) High Impact Practices (HIPs). The OPG includes programs centers and initiatives to advance transdisciplinary collaboration through community engagement signature work regeneration leadership and health strategies. OPG programs centers and initiatives apply DUs four-dimensional (4D) experience to key strategies to emphasize the scholarship of discovery teaching integration and application (intellectual growth) civic health (wellness) public identity development (character) and the importance of the liberal arts for public problem solving (careers and lives of purpose).

Position Summary

As a full-time staff member the Recruiting & Events Coordinator supports all programs centers and initiatives in the OPG by coordinating recruitment and marketing activities and supporting event operations. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Operations and is integral to a vibrant operational team that advances the work of OPG programs centers and initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with program directors to implement recruitment strategies for prospective students.
  • Partner with Undergraduate Admissions and other campus offices to execute outreach activities (e.g. visits webinars mailings Slate communications).
  • Maintain and update websites social media and recruitment materials to ensure consistent branding.
  • Develop outreach strategies targeting high school counselors to support diverse cohort recruitment.
  • Manage recruitment databases application systems and reports while ensuring data confidentiality.
  • Coordinate prospective student application and selection processes with faculty and staff.
  • Support recruitment of current DU students faculty and staff for grants awards and program opportunities.
  • Plan and execute event logistics including space reservations catering registration and speaker support.
  • Supervise student employees and assist with student-focused events mentorship and alumni engagement.
  • Lead planning and assessment for major events like the Public Good Celebration and Signature Work Showcase.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 13 years experience in event planning and/or recruitment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 7.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for the position is $23.50-$25.75.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
