Job Description
This is a hybrid role in San Jose CA or Austin TX
Thales is hiring an exeperience Senior Cloud Security Engineer that will support the Enterprise Services program drives customer success with proactive monitoring and management that maximizes the value customers get from their products and services.
As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer you will respond to security and system health incidents provide holistic operational guidance and troubleshoot and configuration within Impervas Cloud Application Security platform. Youll also see a broad range of activities across cloud application and security domains from integration tasks (such as key management and logging) to security response (advising during triage analysis and remediation) to providing analysis and insights through advanced reporting. This position willl also consult with internal functions both technical (such as support and R&D) and business (such as account executives and renewals) constantly improving best practices for solutions and services. As well work closely with Management to implement and expand the global Enterprise Services program.
This position entails occassional paid weekend on-call rotation ( 1 weekend per quarter)
Key Areas of Responsibility
Expertise with Imperva Cloud Application Security platform and stay current on cloud application and cybersecurity trends
Provide comprehensive service to our customers including proactive monitoring configuration integration assistance and post-sales assistance
Analyze customer data such as case trends traffic alerts and attack information to make solid recommendations for improving systems health and overall security posture. Research new attack vectors and security solutions to create customized security policies that detect alert and prevent malicious requests and attacks.
Participate in presentations Quarterly Business Reviews and Service Reviews with customers on a regular basis.
Take ownership of problems work with Impervas internal threat research data science and product teams by delivering actionable intelligence that will inform & shape future product enhancements
Keep customer teams up to date via ongoing status about onboarding configuration and tuning efforts cases feature requests (RFEs) service review calls and current news from the field on the latest security trends and developments as well as product release notes.
Develop and implement troubleshooting tools processes and ideas that improve efficiency of Enterprise Services delivery. Continually evaluate and enhance proactive monitoring automation and reporting initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or Telecommunications or any Technology field and minimum of 6 years experience in application or network security in a technical customer facing role with at least last 4 years in a application security OR
5 years experience in application or network security with a Masters Degree in a technology field with at least 3 years in a Technical Customer-facing role.
Demonstrated experience working with Internet Security and Networking Technologies such as TCP/IP HTTP SSL/TLS Proxies Firewalls OWASP Top 10 and OWASP Automated Threats to Web Applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving approach alongside self-learning ability. Excellent communication (written and verbal) interpersonal skills team-player and customer-focused skills.
Experience with basic scripts in one or more languages such as Python
Experience with Kubernetes (Hands-on) Docker and AWS or Azure or GCP
Experience with automating redundant tasks streamlining repetitive processes and are always looking for opportunities to scale operations

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target is between
Total Target Cash (TTC): 105397.66 - 150568.08 - 201234.80 USD AnnualThis reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including but not limited to the employees career path history competencies skills and performance as well as the companys annual salary budget the customers program requirements and the companys internal equity.
