Job Description
Westgold Resources is shaping the future of gold mining in Western Australia. We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team who shares our vision of building a sustainable and profitable major Australian gold business.
The role includes
- Assist in the implementation and continual improvement of the site Environmental Management System including internal external audits and inspections training and awareness programs or environmental initiatives
- Partner with key stakeholders in the provision of coordination support direction and expertise in proactive environmental management ensuring effective controls are in plan and managed compliant with legislative heritage and corporate obligations
- Advise on and facilitate land access for operations including considerations of tenure stakeholder consultation and agreement and legal permissions under the relevant Environment and Heritage Acts
- Developing and reviewing the application of new procedures processes methodologies and technologies where appropriate
- Assist in the preparation of department budgets and forecasts ensuring that all operational and capital needs are adequately catered for to effectively deliver on the departments business plan
- Continually ensure that expenses are effectively controlled with cost saving opportunities identified and implemented wherever practicable
- Direct contractors within area of accountability in a cost effective and efficient manner ensuring that they are aware of performance targets have the necessary tools to achieve these and that their activities are aligned with Company targets
- Provide mentorship to direct reports to ensure behaviours actions and attitudes align with the companys Core Values
What do I need
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science of Management
- Manual Drivers License
- 8 years demonstrated experience in an environmental role within mining industry or government
- Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviours actions and attitude in line with the companys Core Values and lead by example to promote the Companys policies systems and procedures
- Positively promote educate manage and comply with the companys fitness for work hours of work issue resolution bullying and harassment and discipline guidelines
- Facilitate the accomplishment of goals through establishing productive and constructive interpersonal relationships both internally and externally
- Proven success in supervising teams and individuals in an effective manner
- Demonstrated knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation
- Preparing compliance reports and approvals documentation for submission to external agencies
