The Opportunity
We are seeking Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our team at Westmead Private Hospital as a Stoma Therapist. This opportunity will see you to being in an active in a leadership role including the development and provision of evidence-based clinical nursing while working and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. You will act as a clinical resource for all other healthcare professionals in all areas related to the assessment and management of stomas fistulas wound and peristomal aspects of patient care. You will also be responsible for initiating diagnostic investigations and delivery of all pre and post operative education and care of ostomy patients
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager you will perform duties with the support and guidance of the Department Manager Team and Shift Leaders to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital and Ramsay Health Care.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Member of the Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses (AASTN)
- Qualifications in Stomal Therapy or working towards
- Minimum three (3) years in a hospital nursing role essential
- Demonstrate the ability to assess plan coordinate and evaluate care delivery needs of patient
- Exhibits exceptional customer service and time management abilities
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive working relationships with others.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently as required
