KBR is seeking a motivated entry-level Junior Sustainment Test Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs CO.

KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract. By applying to this position you are in consideration for KBR employment; however you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor partners.

The MSEIT effort provides leading-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the United States Space Forces (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC). We acquire state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command Control and Communications (NC3) systems providing global secure survivable and protected communications for our nations warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. Join our high-functioning high-performing MSEIT Sustainment IPT located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB) and be an important part of directly supporting the Joint and Allied operational warfighting community currently employing MILSATCOM and NC3 space systems terminals and software applications worldwide.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering Integration and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Forces Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Forces acquisition of state of the art satellite communications systems providing global secure survivable and protected communications for our nations warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design plan coordinate execute testing and provide terminal operations support on the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T) Mission Planning Subsystem (MPSS) Air Force Command Post Terminal (AFCPT) Time Distribution Subsystem Pre-Processor (TDSPP) Milstar Messaging System (MMS) Global Broadcast Service (GBS) Ground Multi-band Terminal (GMT) various other systems subsystems and MILSATCOM devices
  • Provide technician-level support for each of the above systems including integration communication circuit troubleshooting and system-level anomaly resolution
  • Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications
  • Author peer-review and deliver technical documentation including test plans detailed test procedures system configuration diagrams engineering studies technical white papers and test reports
  • Potential for travel approximately 10%

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to attain and maintain a SECRET clearance
  • Bachelors degree in engineering mathematics physics computer science or similar technical discipline
  • Must be a motivated self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word Excel PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written verbal communications and presentation skills

Desired:

  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification (e.g. ASEP CSEP ESEP)
  • Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment
  • Possess a SECRET clearance

Basic Compensation:$80000 - $101000 in Colorado

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge skills abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
