MalaceHR is seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Engineer to join our facilities team. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate maintain troubleshoot and repair a wide range of facility systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep expertise in at least one technical trade (such as Electrical HVAC Plumbing/Piping or Central Utility Plant Operations) and possess multi-skilled capabilities to support diverse operational needs across the facility.
Operate maintain and repair facility systems including Mechanical Plumbing Structural Furniture Fire Life Safety and Control systems.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks and general facility upkeep to meet established standards.
Troubleshoot equipment issues identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment through inspection cleaning calibration and component replacement.
Record operational data monitor system readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
Follow all safety protocols regarding storage handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Ensure a clean organized and safe work environment in all assigned areas.
Conduct periodic checks and maintain an accurate inventory of tools and instruments.
Monitor contractor performance to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
Identify safety hazards and suggest corrective measures to enhance workplace safety.
Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
2 4 years of relevant experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with commercial or industrial HVAC electrical plumbing and mechanical systems.
Ability to diagnose system malfunctions and perform corrective actions.
EPA 608 Type II Certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel or similar computer applications.
Preferred:
EPA 608 Universal Certification.
Two years of vocational or trade school training in HVAC refrigeration or electrical systems.
