Job Summary:
This position is for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a long-term care facility. The LVN/LPN will provide nursing care to patients under the direction of an RN focusing on patient assessments medication administration and treatment planning. Previous travel experience is required.
Location: Seward Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care as directed by an RN.
- Gathering and reporting patient data.
- Carrying out physician orders.
- Performing therapeutic procedures.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintaining patient records and documentation.
- Adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs (as needed).
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current LPN/LVN license in Alaska.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care.
- Ability to work a 4x12-hour variable shift (days or nights).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in emergency or critical care environments.
- Proficiency with vents/trachs/PICC lines.
- Two years of experience in direct patient care.
Special Considerations:
- Previous travel experience is required.
- On-call is not required.
- The facility will provide a vehicle for use during the assignment (with restrictions).
- Shifts are either days or nights depending on facility needs. Occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs may require shift rotation.
- Time off is approved on an individual basis.
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- A block schedule is not accommodated.
Scheduling:
- 4x12-hour variable shifts (days or nights).
- Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks.
- The traveler may be called off for one 12-hour shift per two weeks.
