Job Description
The Senior AC Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the installation maintenance and repair of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems across the campus. This role assists with the overseeing of AC Refrigeration Mechanics ensuring efficient and effective operation of HVAC systems while maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for students faculty and staff.The salary range for this position is $57542 - $63296
The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidates qualifications and experience.
Essential Functions:
Core Values: Demonstrate TSTCs core values of Excellence Accountability Service and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders customers students and community members.
Maintenance and Repair: Install diagnose and repair commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Safety and Compliance: Assist with ensuring all work complies with local state and federal regulations including safety standards.
Leadership: Assist in overseeing AC Refrigeration Mechanics.
Building Access: Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
Equipment Management: Check out tools equipment and supplies as needed.
Vehicle Operation: Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to their supervisor.
Physical Exertion: Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs) often in awkward positions.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
EPA license contractors license (Class A) preferred
3 years of experience with commercial HVAC equipment chillers boilers electrical service to the units and HVAC installation.
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Valid Texas Drivers License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.
Working Conditions:
Exertion: Significant physical effort and strength required daily often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting.
Exposure: Regular exposure to dust grease noise inclement weather and temperature extremes.
Risk:Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
