Position OverviewThe Assistant Director of Human Resources supports the mission of St. Johns Prep by helping to build a workplace culture rooted in the Xaverian spiritual values of compassion trust zeal and simplicity. This role contributes to the schools mission to educate the whole person by managing key HR functions for employees including payroll benefits onboarding off-boarding and wellness initiatives. The Assistant Director works closely with the Assistant Head of School for Human Resources on projects that promote employee well-being professional growth and community. This position is a full time position year round and in Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages the new hire onboarding process and the employee off-boarding the annual open enrollment process via Paylocity for all benefit with the Assistant Head of School for Human Resources on wellness personnel files of approximately 250-270 full-time employees and 150-200 part-time/seasonal employees in compliance with applicable legal employees regarding their payroll and benefits questions as well as employment verification that all benefit changes life changes and COBRA events are sent and processed to benefit the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in Paylocity to provide vendors with accurate eligibility as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party and process payroll via Paylocity and ensure that timesheets are reviewed for accuracy and approved by managers on a bi-weekly payroll liabilities by reviewing the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employers social security the payroll accounts monthly by resolving payroll discrepancies (labor distribution liability accounts payroll tax expense and benefits).Support the Assistant Head of School for Human Resources with payroll guidelines by reviewing discussing and updating policies and Assistant Head of School for Human Resources with various training research projects and/or special with and stay abreast of federal state and local legal requirements including FMLA MA PFML COBRA employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing professional publications establishing personal networks and/or participating in professional with end-of-year schedule preparation (July) and participate in the annual audit (August). Prepare reports and accounting tasks as neededPerform other duties as assigned including providing coverage for the accounts payable and ExperienceBachelors degree in human resources or accounting is preferred and/or 5 or more years of equivalent work and CompetenciesFinancial skills and knowledge of accounting and budget principles are verbal and written communication Google Suite and Microsoft Office skills are crucial. Proven ability to utilize and develop with Paylocity (including HRIS) and Blackbaud is preferred but not be attentive to detail.
