Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Security Lead consists of but is not limited to leading the security team to provide a safe environment for all teammates across the division. This includes setting the expectations of your team that you are face the face of the division when anyone comes onsite supporting/training the guards on daily tasks leading the first responders on all safety calls training the guards on daily tasks leading the first responders on all safety calls training the guards to be ready for all weather-related issues and guiding your team to participate in the safety program. Your team will be the point of contact for any incident onsite. You will have the responsibility of effectively communicating by radio with first responders calling the fire department/police department and controlling all rescue teams. You will also be responsible for checking in contractors and following our policies and procedures to safely bring them onsite. The lead role will be involved with safety department and Material Handling to understand the safety expectations as well as training and coverage from the material handling team. You will have to coordinate between both to work with you team. Must be able to communicate with Nucor teammates the public and contractors. You will be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime nights weekends and holidays.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have great communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with safety programs.
- Experience with first responders fire department police department.
- Previous leadership experience.
