Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies particularly integrated communications networking and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering cybersecurity operational integration and data analytics all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Develops and researches new concepts processes or technology. Collects relevant information and data analyzes it performs tests and creates optimal solutions that meet the needs of the mission. Works with emerging technologies to deploy to new and existing systems. Participates in full research and development lifecycle. Collaborates with Weapon Systems Engineers to develop and maintain weapon systems (e.g. Minuteman III). Conducts research and writing support on various topics within the scientific and technology community in support of warfighting objectives (Del. 17).
Minimum Qualifications
10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Ability to analyze system requirements and develop engineering specifications
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across engineering lifecycle phases
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical documentation
Preferred Requirements
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like MagicDraw or Cameo
- Prior experience working with military or aerospace platforms
- Masters degree in a technical discipline is a plus
