Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Security Guard consists of but is not limited to safe and efficient guard shack operators being the face of Nucor as you are the first point of contact when someone is coming onsite handling all radio and traffic operations in the division. This includes supporting and leading the first responders on all safety calls. You will be the point of contact for any incident onsite. You will have the responsibility of effectively communicating by radio with first responders calling the fire department/police department and controlling all rescue teams. You will also be responsible for checking in contractors and following our policies and procedures to safely bring them onsite. Must be able to communicate with Nucor teammates the public and contractors. You will be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime nights weekends and holidays.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have great communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with safety programs.
- Experience with first responders fire department police department.
