About Your Company
Our partner is a foreign-owned entity with a unique foundation of strategic board members which allows them to drive investment opportunities between China and global markets through their QDLP / QFLP licenses.
We are looking for a General Manager to lead their operation in Hong Kong / Shenzhen working closely with their mainland headquarters. This role will be a critical strategic hire in driving fund growth and managing cross border investments across the Asia-Pacific region.
A strong understanding of the regulatory and business landscape in mainland China is essential.
About your role
Oversee strategic planning investment execution and operational management focusing on QDLP/QFLP fund structures.
Drive AUM growth via a 5-year roadmap.
Lead the full lifecycle of QDLP/QFLP funds including quota applications structure design and compliance.
Manage cross-border fundraising (targeting institutional LPs sovereign funds HNWIs) and investor relations.
Ensure adherence to AMAC (China) and international fund governance standards.
Optimize QDLP/QFLP quotas through regulatory engagement (e.g. expanding QDLP quota from $60M to $200M).
Establish the firm as a leader in Chinas private equity market and expand into global hubs (Dubai Singapore U.S.).
Develop partnerships with NZ/AU fund managers for global business growth.
Build a diversified portfolio in tech renewable energy healthcare and infrastructure.
Execute cross-border PE transactions with a high success rate.
Recruit and mentor a high-performing team fostering cross-border collaboration between China and NZ.
Promote an international investment culture and knowledge sharing.
Streamline workflows between domestic/overseas teams and improve fund governance/cost efficiency.
Deliver at least 1 fund product within 3 months of joining.
What you will need to succeed
10 years in PE fund management (QDLP/QFLP experience required).
Track record of managing $500M AUM and bilingual (Chinese/English) proficiency.
Preferred: MBA/PhD/CFA AMAC/SFC licenses and deep China market knowledge.
