As the Director Engineering you will lead the engineering strategy and execution of digital personalization platforms that power 1:1 experiences across our retail banking ecosystem.
Reporting to the Head of Personalization & Commerce Engineering this leadership role is central to enabling customer-centric journeys and enterprise personalization at scale. Youll partner with business partners digital product and design data science marketing and channel teams to build capabilities that support segmentation next-best actions and personalized offers across mobile web contact centre and branch channels.
Is this role right for you In this role you will:
Lead a team of engineering teams delivering scalable personalization platforms
Oversee the development and integration of real-time and batch personalization services into key customer touchpoints
Collaborate with enterprise partners in Analytics Marketing and Digital Product to co-create end-to-end personalization solutions
Drive the evolution of the personalization technology stack using modern frameworks and cloud-native services (e.g. GCP Adobe AEP Salesforce Marketing Cloud PEGA CDH)
Ensure engineering excellence through robust SDLC practices site reliability automation CI/CD pipelines and operational readiness
Translate business and customer needs into technical strategies and delivery roadmaps
Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team that thrives in a fast-paced agile environment
Contribute to broader Canadian Banking Engineering leadership supporting talent development tech strategy and cross-functional initiatives
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role Wed love to work with you if you have:
10 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
Proven success delivering customer-facing digital platforms in financial services e-commerce or large-scale consumer environments
Expertise in a modern tech stack including decisioning engines event streaming customer data platforms and experimentation frameworks
Hands-on knowledge of modern engineering tools and practices: microservices cloud platforms (preferably GCP) APIs containers and DevOps
Strong understanding of data engineering AI/ML integration and marketing technology ecosystems
Exceptional leadership influencing and cross-functional collaboration skills
A customer-first mindset with the ability to align technical delivery with business outcomes
