Job Description

Job Title: IT Infrastructure Administrator

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Edinburgh

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Closing date: 13th August

We are currently looking to recruit an IT Infrastructure Administrator to join our IT Support team on a permanent basis in Edinburgh.

The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support to Royal London colleagues for all Hardware and Software across the group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing professional IT 2nd Line support to all Royal London colleagues via our Incident and Service Request processes.
  • Supporting both hardware and software across the group.
  • Proactively managing your own workload/work queue.
  • Liaising with colleagues in the IT Service Desk & 3rd line Specialist teams to find solutions to problems and to knowledge share.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements in services and process enhancements so that we can always strive to do our jobs in the most efficient way.
  • Supporting the delivery & implementation of projects.

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience working in a 1st or 2nd line IT support role supporting customers both in-house and virtually.
  • Experience of Microsoft technologies including AD/Exchange/Teams/Office 365 Experience supporting Windows 10 & 11 client.
  • A good understanding of virtual and VC technologies.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Enjoy providing excellent customer support.
  • Enjoy problem solving with a positive approach to challenges

Desirable Criteria

  • Good understanding of the automation of systems and processes.
  • Good understanding of Networks Monitoring Unix & storage technologies.
